About M.Sc Chemistry

 

Established in 2022, the Department of PG Chemistry offers a dynamic and research-driven two-year M.Sc. Chemistry program under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), affiliated to Bangalore University. The program is thoughtfully designed to nurture scientific excellence, innovation, and analytical competence in core and emerging domains of chemical sciences, aligned with university regulations and global academic standards.

The curriculum provides specialization in Organic Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry, seamlessly integrating strong theoretical foundations with intensive laboratory training, interdisciplinary research projects, and value-added certification courses. Emphasis is placed on advanced spectroscopy, synthetic methodologies, nanoscience, medicinal and green chemistry, and modern instrumental techniques to meet evolving industrial and research demands.

With experienced, research-active faculty and well-equipped laboratories, students receive structured mentoring, internship opportunities, industrial exposure, CSIRNET coaching, and expert interactions from academia and industry. Graduates of the program are successfully building careers in pharmaceutical industries, analytical laboratories, research institutions, higher education, and doctoral studies, reflecting the program’s academic strength and professional relevance.
