Take the next step in your career journey. The Department of Samskrita, established in 1995, focuses on the holistic upliftment of students in all walks of life. Over the past few years, the student strength has increased to nearly 200. The department strives to inculcate the values of ancient Indian culture along with modern education through various academic and cultural activities such as Samskritotsava, seminars, workshops, educational tours, and competitions related to the Indian Knowledge System. Students actively participate in inter-collegiate events under the able guidance of their teachers. Samskrita is taught for four semesters to students of BA, BSc, BCA, BCom, BBA and as an Open Elective course. Languages provide a medium for fresh thinking, clarity of expression, and intellectual development. Sanskrit, with its rich heritage and educational value, has stood the test of time for millennia and has contributed immensely to the knowledge systems of society. The department aims to disseminate this knowledge in a systematic and enriching manner while aligning the curriculum with emerging academic focus areas. The Open Elective course is offered to students from different disciplines, enabling them to gain exposure beyond their chosen field of study. Through this interdisciplinary approach, students develop a deeper understanding of classical knowledge, language structure, and cultural heritage while enhancing their overall academic perspective. To discover the wealth of Sanskrit literature and thereby present the characteristics of Indian culture to young minds. Research based Activities have the intention to provide research competencies at the undergraduate level. It enables the acquisition of special/ advanced knowledge through support study. Candidates shall independently carry out Book Chapters and research articles with a faculty member's advice and support. Ten days program will be conducted. And students will be made to learn to speak simple Samskrita sentences. As per the ancient scriptures, Gita originated on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in Margashirsha month at Kurukshetra, Haryana. This day is celebrated as Gita Jayanti Which falls in the month of Margashirsha (December). During the battle of Mahabharata, Lord Krishna guided Arjuna in the right direction by narrating Bhagavad Gita which is a source of immense knowledge. Bhagavad Gita is comprised of eighteen chapters and 700 verses. Lord Krishna explained the importance of Karma and Dharma to Arjuna in the battle of Kurukshetra. He explained the difference between right and wrong. Awareness about Gita will be created among students and other people by making them recite complete 18 chapters or at least few important shlokas in one week during the month of December and specifying the meaning of those shlokas along with the importance of Gita in their lives.Quick Navigation
