About BCOM

 

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) program was established in 1995 offers Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) permanently affiliated to Bangalore University with intake of 300 students. Department integrates a well-structured academic framework to uphold the university standards and Institutional excellence.

The curriculum provides a comprehensive foundation in core commerce concepts such as Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Banking, Investment Management, Corporate law and Human Resource. To equip students with knowledge department offers ability enhancement courses like Environmental Studies, Computer Fundamental with Tally Prime, Soft skills for Business and Constitution Values. In the Final year students select the specialization option such as Accounting and Taxation, Banking and Finance, Marketing and Human Capital and Business and Big Data analytics.

The strength of Experienced faculties with diversified arena has a notable contribution in research contribution and academic distinctions. To enhance the analytical and technical skills of the students the department offers Value Addition Courses such as Zoho Books, Tally Prime, Business Analytics and Digital Marketing. In the view of Holistic Development Industry engagement programs such as Internship, Seminar, Guest Lectures, Workshops, Industrial Visits and other academic initiatives, contributing to consistent Ranks, Gold medal and Placement in reputed companies.

The B.Com program promotes holistic development through various co-curricular activities that complement academic learning. PRANEETHI – The Commerce Forum made its humble beginning in 1997 to nurture student talent and bridge the gap between academic learning and practical skill development. It was an initiative by the Department of Commerce to create a vibrant platform for holistic student growth.

The name “PRANEETHI” signifies a collective effort towards excellence, representing a community of students and faculty committed to developing leadership, managerial abilities and confident personalities.

PRANEETHI provides a student-centric space that encourages learners to enhance not only their academic understanding but also to participate actively in various college initiatives. The Forum has been instrumental in shaping students into competent leaders, organisers and professionals, equipping them with the skills required for the dynamic world of commerce.
