Environmental degradation, pollution, and loss of green cover are major challenges faced by society today. Creating awareness at a young age is essential to ensure sustainable development and environmental protection. Educational institutions play a vital role in integrating environmental values into the curriculum and translating theoretical knowledge into practical action. Activities such as tree plantation and environmental awareness programs help students understand their responsibility towards nature and society.

NAAC Compliance: As part of NAAC Criteria 1.3.1 – Cross-Cutting Issues integrated into the curriculum, the Department of PG Chemistry organized an environmental awareness and tree plantation activity on 12th January 2026.

The students visited the campus, which houses both school and college sections, and actively participated in planting saplings within the college premises. Land was prepared for plantation, and various saplings were planted with the involvement of school students. Our postgraduate students guided and motivated the younger students, explaining the importance of plants in maintaining ecological balance.
