Karnataka PGCET 2026:
Official Exam Day Survival Guide & Dress Code

For the Karnataka PGCET 2026 exams on May 23 and 24, candidates must report 60 minutes early with a printed Admit Card, an original Photo ID, and a blue/black ballpoint pen. The KEA strictly enforces an anti-malpractice dress code requiring simple, half-sleeved clothing and open footwear without metallic accessories.

Welcome to the official Surana College PGCET 2026 Resource Portal.

Months of rigorous preparation for the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) PGCET culminate this May. However, academic readiness is only one component of success. Every year, hundreds of candidates face severe delays or outright disqualification at the examination center gates due to minor administrative oversights or dress code violations.

To ensure our prospective postgraduate students experience a seamless, stress-free examination day, the Directorate of Admissions at Surana College (Autonomous) has compiled this definitive Exam Day Survival Guide based on the official KEA anti-malpractice protocols.

Module Module 1: The PGCET 2026 Exam Day Timeline & Bell Schedule

Punctuality is strictly enforced. The KEA utilizes a precise bell system to manage the flow of the examination.

  • Reporting Time (60 Minutes Prior): Candidates must arrive at the examination center one hour before the official start time. This allows for thorough frisking and identity verification.
  • The First Bell (10 Minutes Prior): Candidates enter the hall and take their assigned seats. The invigilator will distribute the OMR Answer Sheets. Use this time to carefully fill in your Name, PGCET Number, and Version Code.
  • The Second Bell (Exam Commencement): The question booklets are distributed, the seals are broken, and the 120-minute countdown begins.
  • The Second Bell (Exam Commencement): The question booklets are distributed, the seals are broken, and the 120-minute countdown begins.
  • The Warning Bell (10 Minutes Remaining): Strategic Tip: Because the PGCET has zero negative marking, use this final 10-minute window to stop solving complex problems and ensure every remaining bubble on the OMR sheet is shaded via calculated guesswork.
  • The Final Bell: : All writing must cease immediately. Hand over the OMR sheet to the invigilator.

Module 2: The Mandatory Document & Stationery Arsenal

You will not be permitted past the perimeter security without the following items. Place them in a clear, transparent folder the night before the exam.

  • Karnataka PGCET 2026 Admit Card/Hall Ticket: A clear, legible printout
  • Original Government-Issued Photo ID: You must carry the original document, not a photocopy or a digital version. Acceptable IDs include an Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, or PAN Card.
  • Stationery: Two Blue or Black ink ballpoint pens. (Note: Gel pens, fountain pens, or pencils are strictly prohibited for shading the OMR sheet as they cause scanner rejection).

Module 3: The Official KEA PGCET Dress Code Protocol

The KEA has implemented a stringent dress code to prevent malpractice and the use of concealed Bluetooth devices. Security personnel are authorized to deny entry for non-compliance.

For Male Candidates:
  • Allowed Simple, half-sleeved shirts or t-shirts. Plain trousers or formal pants. Sandals or chappals.
  • Prohibited: Full-sleeved shirts, kurtas, clothing with large buttons/zip pockets/heavy embroidery, closed shoes, boots, and thick-soled footwear.
For Female Candidates:
  • Allowed: Simple half-sleeved kurtis, salwar kameez, or western tops. Simple trousers. Sandals or chappals.
  • Prohibited: Clothes with elaborate embroidery, frills, large buttons, or metallic embellishments. Closed shoes or high heels.
  • Accessories Ban: All metallic jewelry (earrings, rings, bracelets, pendants, anklets) is strictly banned, except for mangalsutras/customary marital jewelry.
Universal Prohibitions (All Candidates):

Wear simple, unlayered, half-sleeve clothing. Prohibited: Large buttons, metallic jewelry, thick-soled shoes, caps, sunglasses.

Prohibited Tech
  • Caps, hats, and sunglasses.
  • Heavy belts with large metallic buckles.
  • Mobile phones, Bluetooth earbuds, smartwatches, and calculators are strictly prohibited. All calculations must be performed manually.

Module 4: The Surana PG Advantage (Securing Your Corporate ROI)

The Problem: The stress of navigating the strict KEA exam day protocols can be overwhelming. However, clearing this hurdle is only meaningful if the degree you pursue afterward guarantees a strong return on investment (ROI).

The Agitation: Choosing a generic postgraduate institution that lacks corporate integration, dedicated placement cells, or advanced research infrastructure will leave your career stagnant, regardless of how well you perform on exam day.

The Solution: Walk into the exam hall with confidence, knowing your target is Surana College (Autonomous).

To ensure maximum focus, we operate specialized campuses based on your academic discipline. You must utilize the specific KEA College Codes for your target campus during Option Entry:

1. Kengeri Satellite Town Campus (The Exclusive PG Hub)

Programs Hosted: MBA, MCA, M.Sc in Psychology, and Counselling Psychology.

The Infrastructure: By stripping away undergraduate distractions, we provide an immersive environment engineered for corporate mastery. Featuring high-speed computational server labs and deep-focus clinical setups, graduates here leverage our Corporate Relations cell to secure an Average PG Package of 5 LPA, with elite performers achieving our Highest PG Package of 16.41 LPA.

2. South End / Jayanagar Campus (The Comprehensive UG & Specialized PG Hub)

PG Programs Hosted: M.Com, MA in Media Studies, and M.Sc in Chemistry. (Note: This campus also houses our premier UG programs—B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, and BA—accessible via the SET).

The Infrastructure: Located in the vibrant heart of Bangalore, this campus features advanced Chemistry research bays and dynamic media production studios.
