From Campus Tracks to the Nation's Frontiers

Shashank completed his graduation at Surana College between 2019 and 2022. During his time pursuing his undergraduate studies, he didn't just focus on his coursework; he fully immersed himself in Surana College campus life. As a dedicated student-athlete, he represented the college and participated in several National-level athletic events.

This commitment to holistic learning and co-curricular activities laid the perfect foundation for his ultimate goal: joining the Indian Army.

Not a Job, But a Service

Today, Shashank is posted in Ladakh, braving temperatures that drop to -20 and -30 degrees Celsius. But for him, as he proudly states, this isn't just a job—it's a service to the nation. He credits the discipline he learned during his college days as a stepping stone to his current success..

For youths aspiring to follow in his footsteps, Shashank highly recommends joining the NCC (National Cadet Corps) during their time at a top degree college in Bangalore. NCC provides the basic army drills and the foundational discipline required to excel in the armed forces.

"If everyone in India is sleeping peacefully, it is because of the Indian Army. Hi, my name is Shashank. I am currently serving in the Indian Army, posted in Ladakh.

I was a student-athlete at Surana College. From 2019 to 2022, I completed my graduation here. I participated in athletics and represented the college at the Nationals. After my graduation was over, I got an opportunity to join the Army. Becoming a small part of it is a very proud feeling for me.

In -20 and -30 degree temperatures, what I am doing is not a job; it is a service to the nation. The Indian Army is like another home for me. I have good friends and a great group by my side.
