CULTURAL CLUB KALASIRI

About the Club

Culturals at our college are a vibrant celebration of creativity and diversity, bringing everyone together to share, experience, and enjoy the richness of our collective heritage. Through music, dance, art, and other creative expressions, culturals provide an exciting platform for students to express themselves, exchange ideas, and build meaningful connections. It’s a beautiful blend of traditions, innovations, and creativity that fosters inclusivity and mutual understanding.

At the heart of these celebrations is the Kalasiri Cultural Committee, one of the college's most successful and cherished committees. The committee is dedicated to uncovering hidden talents and encouraging students to showcase their abilities. More than just organizing events, Kalasiri helps students learn invaluable life lessons—whether it’s through leadership, teamwork, or developing organizational and management skills during events.

While culturals are an essential part of college life, academics hold equal significance. Our institution believes in nurturing a balanced environment where students can excel both in their studies and extracurricular pursuits. The motto of the committee reflects this belief: "Where books shape minds and culturals ignite souls—together, they craft life’s greatest lessons!" Kalasiri inspires students to grow beyond academics, teaching them lessons that will stay with them for a lifetime.

  • Sammilana 2024-25

Sammilana stands as a cornerstone tradition at Surana College, designed to celebrate and uncover the hidden potential of our first-year undergraduate students from all departments. As an annual festival of creativity, passion, and expression, Sammilana sets the stage for fresh talents to shine in diverse fields.

The journey begins with exhilarating Talent Hunt competitions encompassing various categories, including Public Speaking, Storytelling, Content Writing, Poetry, Theatre Activities, Music, and Dance. From these enthralling events, the top 10 finalists are handpicked by the dedicated Faculty Coordinators of the Kalasiri Cultural Committee.

The excitement reaches its peak on the grand day of Sammilana, where the finalists showcase their flair through the Fashion Walk and an aptitude test. Ultimately, the event culminates with the crowning of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher, marking an unforgettable milestone for the academic year.
